It used to be much harder to make your images clickable, now Squidoo has made it much easier. In fact, all you have to do is add the link to where you want it to go and Squidoo will do it all for you.
Let’s take a look.
1. You can not link up your images in your intro module, but you can in other modules.
2. At the bottom of the module you’ll see a place to choose an image from your computer.
Just click the browse button and look on your computer where you save your images.
3. Just under that you’ll see “label this photo”. You want to add your keywords there (this is the alt tag)
4. Link the photo to this url. This is the BIG thing here ~ you ONLY want the url. If you’re grabbing your link from Amazon they give you the whole html code for the link: you want only the url ~ the part that starts with http:// and is between the quotes. (You also have to click the “text only” option to get the right type of code to get the url)
If you use the whole html code it will not work. At all.
Once you’ve added just the url click upload photo and it will automagically be clickable and linked to where you want it to go.

How do you find an copyright free image of the product you want to promote in your lens if you don’t own the product and can take your own picture of it?
you can use product images from amazon.
Hi Jackie
What if you have more than one image in a module and you want to make them clickable. I have been trying since yesterday to get some images clickable. I guess I was grabbing the wrong code.
more than one image in a module is a lot. but you would have to host the image somewhere and then use html code to make the second one linkable. The same code you would use if you did the visual call to action yourself.
Another great post, just when I needed it. Your info has kept me going with Squidoo, as much as I have wanted to give up. Thanks for all your help!

Hi, I noticed that every marketer would do selling differently though they are promoting same Amazon product. One may suggest using blogs with heavy content, others may suggest Squidoo. In your case, do you diversify your marketing or is it just Squidoo alone? Thanks.

It can never be a squidoo lens alone because you have to create other platforms to do your promotion ~ so yes, I have free blogs, hosted blogs, hubpages, bookmarking sites. You have to have those things to build links to your lens to get it to rank in Google and get you traffic.
If you decided to do a blog as your money page ~ then you would probably add squidoo as one of your supplemental sites. It all depends on the PURPOSE of each site. Is it a money page? Is it a support page? What you do on each page depends on what it’s supposed to be doing for you.
There is no way to just have *one* site online. There’s no way to use just one site and have it work. Everyone has to have a diverse network of sites ~ what you use those sites for depends on their purpose in your marketing process.
it’s the squidoo website shown above. I can’t seem to remove the link. Will try again.
I am SO frustrated. I used this as my
link and am still getting the squidoo page!
<a href=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ODVVOQ?ie=UTF8&tag=pampmindandse-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B001ODVVOQ
What am I doing wrong? The photo is resident on my machine rather than a photo hosting site. Would that cause this? Also, I tried to erase the <a href= but it put it back in.
Thanks again…I need to keep motivated…this has taken sooooo long! At least I'll know what to do for my next lenses.
The problem is that you are using the just http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ODVVOQ?ie=UTF8&tag=pampmindandse-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B001ODVVOQ in the space for the link.
PS Linking your images is not a make it or break it thing!! If you can’t get it to work, move on. Is it for the lens you have linked in your name?
Thanks for the info. My question is, if I’m using anchor text to link out to Amazon for the product I’m promoting, then I make my pictures clickable as well, is there a chance I’ll go over the limit of links I’m allowed to have or do the picture links not count?
I believe Squidoo only allows 9 links out, or don’t the picture links count?
Amazon is on the white list ~ I believe you can link as often as you like to amazon.
Thanks. In that case, do you recommend linking every picture (not in intro module, as you explained), or…maybe you could suggest what you think would work best?
I like the idea, because I’m one of those people who likes to click on pictures myself.
I link all my images ~ but I only use one maybe two besides the intro module.
Hi
A very usefull site with lots of great resources. Really inspired me to get on with building out my Squido Len’s
I Plan to have one lens for each of my micro niche sites and link them all together in a wheel and spoke model to a main niche Lens. Is that a good plan?
regards
Steve
Squidoo will need to be ONE of the spokes in your link wheel for our niche sites. It won’t be enough as the only one, but yes it will be a nice spoke in the wheel.
Hi, thanks for your reply.
Can i create a wheel withthe edge being lens say 6 and the hub being another?
So the edge ones just connect to the next one in sequence but they all link to the hub one.
each lens including the hub will also have links out as per your articles onthe subject.
Or am i making it to complicated and the “value” of inter lens links not worth the effort.
To explain the edge lens are specific longtail keyword items say a specific model of guitar the central hub a brand of guitars.
Thanks and i really am glad i tripped accros your site

I’m not exactly clear on what you’re trying to say. Check out this link wheel ~ hopefully it will help: http://www.linkwheel.co.uk/_images/link-wheel1.jpg
Hi thanks
The diagram explans it well. I had thought of useing lens for each of the inner spokes. but they ofocurse would have no authority themselves so the idea desnot work
Thanks

Thank you for the reminder. I need to go back over older lenses to make sure I have everything correctly linked. Squidoo really is supportive of us, aren’t they!
